Yeshiva University in New York City, the country’s flagship Jewish University, selected DPV Transportation to plan and implement season-long sports team transportation for their student athletes and coaches.
DPV Transportation, Inc. received the campus-wide shuttle bus transportation services RFP for Yeshiva University in July of 2022. DPV’s operations team carefully evaluated the qualifications and requirements of the project and determined that the scope of work fit their core capabilities, leading them to win the contract for a 3-year program in August of 2022 and implement their services by August 28th of 2022.
As the transportation provider for Yeshiva University’s sports program, DPV has exclusively dedicated one operations manager, one dedicated reservations account manager, and 12 highly skilled CDL-licensed chauffeurs to the account. The DPV team provided eight different vehicles, including sprinters, coaches, and buses, to accommodate the varying sizes of the university’s athletics division. DPV’s biggest challenge was in Project Scheduling, as they must work around Shabbat. Transportation services also required a more flexible solution to target capacity constraints as each team is different in size, and needs are unique and must be considered afresh when an accommodation request is made.
Project Management involved careful evaluation of the scope of services with their operations team, which included assessing capital needs, personnel needs, project timelines, and routes involved. An operations manager and account manager assigned exclusively for the account were tasked to oversee a successful project execution which involved procurement and setting up of vehicles and tracking systems, recruitment and hiring qualified staff and CDL drivers, onboarding into the accounting system, as well as the training and monitoring and controlling phases of the project.
