Vaughn College in East Elmhurst, New York, one of the country’s premier aviation and engineering institutions, needed a reliable and efficient transportation provider which University departments and student groups can book for special trips or large group transportation. DPV Transportation was awarded the contract in October 2022 for a 3-year term on an ad hoc basis.
As a charter bus service, DPV Transportation was tasked to organize transportation and provide chartered bus rentals for student groups “as needed” or “as required.” A dedicated reservations specialist manages the Vaughn College account to help determine affordable bus rental options, offer custom solutions and premium amenities. DPV specially arranged a dedicated Reservations Team to accommodate reservations, finalize bookings and provide 24/7 support to help overcome any logistical challenges.
To date, DPV Transportation has provided a range of vehicles, from 24 passengers to 50 passengers, for a variety of trips, including special events, guest speakers, conventions and conferences, class trips, school outings, sporting events and other university-related routine or ongoing needs.
The ad-hoc nature of this contract presents some unique challenges to DPV’s own operational efficiency. A dedicated operations team based in DPV’s New York headquarters oversees the allocation of resources, time, drivers, vehicles and equipment and continuously evaluates the value of specific transport options to meet the university’s requirements based on university guidelines in an optimized way and ensure efficient, comfortable, and safe transportation to all groups in every occasion.
